Erhai Lake in Dali, China

One of the most famous attractions in the city of Dali, Erhai lake is a crystal clear, ear-shaped lake adjacent to Dali ancient town. It is the second largest highland lake in China after Dianchi lake in Kunming.

The lake is not only blessed with magnificent natural beauty with a backdrop of the Cang Mountains but also rich in cultural attractions such as traditional fishing villages and historical temples. Boating and cycling are great ways to tour the lake but we have decided to walk around the lake on foot.

To get to the lake from Dali Ancient Town you can walk for approximately one hour, 20 minutes by bus or 15 minutes by bike.

It is best to set aside 3-4 hours to really enjoy or explore around the lake and we managed to enjoy our lunch which was fresh and delicious. Happy traveling.
