Smart Travel from Kyoto Station to Yasaka Shrine

Yasaka Shrine once called Gion Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the Gion district of Kyoto at the east end of Shijo-dori avenue. It is considered one of the most famous shrines in Kyoto. Open 24 hours and admission is free.

Route 1 approx. 12 min. for a total cost of 270 Yen.

1. Take a train from Kyoto Station to Tofukuji on the JR Nara line. ( approx. 2 min.)

2. Take a train from Tofukuji to Gion-shijo on Keihan Railway. (approx. 5 min.) 3. Walk from Keihan Gion-shijo station. (approx. 5 min.)

Route 2 approx. 18 min. for a total cost of 230 Yen.

1. Take Kyoto city bus #100 or #206 from Kyoto Station to Gion. (approx. 18 min.)
