Nijo Castle – Kyoto

Nijo Castle is one of the seventeen historic monuments of ancient Kyoto which have been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The site is huge and plan to spend a few hours to truly explore it. Opening hours 9am to 5pm and the entrance fee is 600 yen for adult.

Route 1 approx. 8 min. for a total cost of 260 Yen.

1. Take a train from Kyoto to Karasuma Oike on the subway Karasuma line.(approx. 6 min.)

2. Take a train from Karasuma Oike to Nijojo-mae on the subway Tozai line. (approx. 2 min.)

Route 2 approx. 22 min. for a total cost of 190 Yen.

1. Take a train from Kyoto to Nijo on the JR Sagano line. (approx. 5 min.)

2. Walk approx. 17 min.

Route 3 approx. 16 min. for a total cost of 230 Yen.

1. Take Kyoto city bus #9, #50, #101, or Nijo-jo Kinkakuji Express from Kyoto Station to Nijojo-mae. (approx. 16 min.)
